Bethany Asram

Atop the Mundanmala mountain, Bethany Asram in Ranni, Perunad, is a tranquil hermitage surrounded by nature's blessings, with the Pampa flowing alongside. Established in 1918 on a hundred acres donated by Mr. E.J. John, it radiates a sacred light, transforming the hills and valleys with the visionary guidance of Vattasseril St. Dionysius and the foresight of Dn. Alexious. Witnessing numerous evangelical testimonials, Bethany Asram, led by the determined founder, has become magnificence, echoing the ethos of the Malankara Church. H.G. Alexious Mar Theodosius, consecrated in 1938, served as the first Metropolitan outside Kerala, advocating for the Autocephaly and Episcopacy of the Malankara Orthodox Church. After his passing in 1965, his legacy continued with successors like Fr. Yuhanon OIC and others, marking Bethany with ecclesiastical, environmental, educational, and humanitarian endeavors across regions and communities.
